Email & preferences
Choose what reaches your inbox versus the Notification Center, and keep the signal useful.
The Notification Center keeps you current while you’re in the platform; email reaches you when you’re not. Preferences let you decide what arrives by which channel, so you stay informed without being overwhelmed.
Email notifications
For the things you shouldn’t have to be logged in to catch — an approval waiting on you, a review you’re holding up, a deadline approaching — notifications can be delivered by email. Email turns a passive feed into an active prompt, bringing time-sensitive activity to you rather than waiting for you to come looking.
Tuning your preferences
Not everything warrants an email, and what’s essential to one person is noise to another. Preferences let you tune which notifications reach you and through which channel — keeping some activity in the in-app center only, while routing the important things to your inbox. The goal is a signal you trust: if everything emails you, nothing stands out, so the controls let you keep email for what truly needs your attention.
Organization-level settings
Some notification behavior is governed centrally. Email delivery is configured at the organization level — the sending setup and the categories of notification an organization enables — which administrators manage in the Administration and Identity Portal areas (see Email & Notifications in the Identity Portal). Your personal preferences then operate within what the organization has enabled.
Staying current, on your terms
Between the Notification Center and email, you control how the platform keeps you informed: a live feed for everything that involves you, and email for the things that can’t wait. Tuned well, notifications mean you act on what needs you promptly and ignore nothing important — without having to watch the whole system yourself.
