Assign & certify training
An end-to-end walkthrough — set up a course, assign it to people, let them complete it and pass the assessment or acknowledge it, and issue a certificate.
Training in TraceUnified connects competence to the work — who is qualified, on what, and provably so. This guide takes a course from setup to a signed certificate. For the concepts behind each step, see Courses, Assessments, Acknowledgments, and Certificates.
Set up the course
Before you start Open the Training module. Decide whether the course is delivered here or tracked from an external system.
- Create a course — Internal (documents and videos delivered in-app, with progress tracked) or External (completion recorded from a system like an LMS).
- For an internal course, add the materials learners will work through.
- If understanding must be tested, add an assessment — set the Question Type and Points for each question, and the passing score and allowed attempts. If it only needs a read-and-understood, set up an acknowledgment instead.
Result A course ready to assign, with the right completion bar — a passing assessment, an acknowledgment, or simply finishing the material.
Assign it
- Choose Assign and select who must take it — by person or by role.
- Set a Due Date, and mark it Mandatory where completion is required.
Result The course appears in each assignee's training, due by the date you set, and counts toward their compliance.
Complete it
Before you start As an assignee, open the course from My Training.
- Work through the material — progress is tracked as you go.
- Take the assessment and reach the passing score, or Acknowledge the policy if that's the requirement.
- Sign your completion when prompted with an electronic signature.
Result The course is recorded as Completed with a Completion Date, the assessment result or acknowledgment captured, and the signature on the record.
Issue the certificate
- On completion, open the Certificate of Completion for the course.
- It carries a Certificate ID and the Completion Date — share or store it as proof.
Result A verifiable certificate exists for the record, and the completion feeds the training matrix and compliance views. See Analytics & training audit trail for the inspection-ready record.
