Report templates & permissions

Manage the report templates available and control who can run and see reports.

This area governs the report templates your organization offers and the permissions that control who can run and see reports — the administrative side of the Reports section.

Report templates

Beyond the built-in report types, you manage custom report templates here — creating new ones, and importing or uploading template definitions to share a report structure across the organization. Maintaining templates centrally means a report your organization relies on is defined once and available to everyone who should have it, rather than rebuilt by each person who needs it.

Report permissions

Reports can expose sensitive information, so access is controlled by permissions. Each report or report category carries allowed and denied roles, and a permission can be scoped to a whole category of reports or to a specific report. This lets you grant report access broadly where appropriate and restrict it precisely where a particular report is sensitive — governing both who can produce a report and who can see its output.

Templates and access together

Managing templates and permissions in one place keeps reporting coherent: the right reports exist, and the right people can use them. The user-facing detail of building, running, and exporting reports is covered across the Reports section.
