Tag management
Maintain the tags and tag categories used to label and organize records.
Tag management governs the tags available for labeling records and the categories that organize them. Tags are a flexible way to mark and group records across types, and managing them centrally keeps that flexibility from turning into chaos.
Tags and categories
You define the tags people can apply and organize them into tag categories, optionally with colors so they’re easy to scan. Categories give structure to what would otherwise be a flat, sprawling set of labels — grouping related tags so the taxonomy stays coherent as it grows.
Why manage tags centrally
Free-form tagging quickly degrades: the same idea ends up under three slightly different labels, and filtering by tag becomes unreliable. A governed tag set avoids that — everyone draws from the same vocabulary, so tags remain a dependable way to slice and find records. For regulated data, where you may need to reliably retrieve every record bearing a particular designation, this consistency matters.
How tags are used
Tags applied to records support filtering, grouping, and reporting across the platform. Maintaining the tag vocabulary here ensures those capabilities rest on a consistent, intentional set of labels rather than ad-hoc text.
